Some time ago Stephen Fry announced on his blog that he was doing the script
for a remake of the film. I asked him how he intended to approach the
tricky subject of Guy Gibson's dog's name. Never heard back.
Last time the film was on TV here, I'm afraid to say that they had clumsily
edited out any references to the dog's name that might cause offence.
Consequently the scene where the dog gets knocked down and killed just
before the raid was a complete nonsensical mess.

I've been doing a bit of digging. Apparently the dog is going to be
referred-to as "Nigsey".

I live within two miles of RAF Scampton, where I am told that some filming
is in progress.
Having read the above, I suppose thats also the end of hitherto frequent
showings of
" Blazing Saddles" on TV ?
